Building a national industrial poultry value chain
A Central African State imports the vast majority of its poultry consumption. This dependence severely strains its trade balance and exposes its population to external price shocks.
As part of its sovereign economic diversification plan, the government entrusted KUMBA with the comprehensive design of an integrated industrial poultry value chain, from feed production to slaughter and packaging.
We conducted the opportunity study, established the business plan and financial model, and presented the transaction at the highest level of government. The technical operator was selected following rigorous integrity and track record due diligence.
An OHADA Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) pairing a majority private sponsor with the sovereign State, a technical management contract with a seasoned African poultry operator, and quasi-equity financing mobilized from DFIs to complement equity. The framework rests on a six-level guarantee architecture.
